The 2017 Annual Dinner is our premier networking event of the year, bringing together over 1,000 investment professionals and key decision-makers. The Officers and Directors of CFA Society Chicago invite you to attend this year's event where you will have the opportunity to socialize with individual members, celebrate with the new class of CFA charterholders, and show support for the CFA designation and for the Society.

Keynote Speaker: David Rubenstein
David M. Rubenstein David M. Rubenstein is a co-founder and co-CEO of The Carlyle Group, one of the world's largest private equity firms. Since he co-founded the firm in 1987, Carlyle has grown into a firm managing $158 billion from 35 offices around the world.

Previously, Rubenstein served as Chief Counsel to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee's Subcommittee on Constitutional Amendments from 1975-1976 and was Deputy Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy during the Carter Administration from 1977-1981. After his White House service and before co-founding Carlyle, Mr. Rubenstein practiced law in Washington with Shaw, Pittman, Potts & Trowbridge (now Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman).

Rubenstein is chairman of both the Boards of Trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and of Duke University and the Board of Regents of the Smithsonian Institution. He is co-chairman of the Brookings Institution and is on the Board of Directors or Trustees of the University of Chicago, the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Johns Hopkins Medicine, and the National Museum of Natural History of the Smithsonian Institution. He is a member of the Business Council (Vice-Chairman), Visiting Committee of the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, the Harvard Business School Board of Dean's Advisors, the Board of Trustees of the Young Global Leaders Foundation, and the International Business Council of the World Economic Forum.

Rubenstein is a magna cum laude graduate of Duke. He graduated from the University of Chicago Law School in 1973, where he was an editor of The Law Review.

Hotel Accommodations:
A small block of rooms have been reserved for the evening of Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at a $199 rate (single/double occupancy). Reservations may be made, modified or canceled by individuals by calling central reservations at 1.888.421.1442 or on-line at https://aws.passkey.com/go/CFAnov2017 and refer to the CFA Society Chicago Dinner to receive the special rate. Reservations must be made on or before October 6, 2017.

Transportation: $32 valet parking available at the hotel. Self-park is also available at garages within two blocks of the hotel (rates will vary).
