Sam Arnold, CFA, is a Portfolio Manager for Brookfield's global infrastructure securities business. Arnold is responsible for coverage of the North American infrastructure market as well as the development and growth of Brookfield's listed infrastructure strategies. Arnold has 15 years of infrastructure investment experience, including sell-side research and analysis in the U.S. pipeline sector at Credit Suisse. Additionally, Arnold was previously an analyst for a long/short energy infrastructure fund at a Chicago-based multi-strategy hedge fund. Trained as an engineer, Arnold began his career with Exxon USA, where he spent six years focusing on the design, construction, and operation of energy infrastructure assets. Arnold holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and has an MBA from Tulane University and a BS with honors in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois.
Josh Peters, CFA, is the director of equity-income strategy for Morningstar and editor of the monthly newsletter Morningstar® DividendInvestor™. As part of his role as editor, he manages the newsletter's Dividend Builder and Dividend Harvest Portfolios, comprised of individual stocks targeted to generate above-average income and superior total returns. Peters is also the author of The Ultimate Dividend Playbook: Income, Insight and Independence for Today's Investor, published by John Wiley & Sons in January 2008. Peters joined Morningstar in 2000 as an equity analyst, where he covered automotive and industrial companies. After leaving in 2003 to join UBS Investment Bank as an equity research associate in the automotive sector, he returned to Morningstar in 2004 to develop Morningstar DividendInvestor. Between the inception of DividendInvestor's first model portfolio in January 2005 and the end of 2012, the cumulative time-weighted total return of its portfolio recommendations was 74.0%, which compares to a 42.1% return for the S&P 500 Index. Peters holds a bachelor's degree in history and economics from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
C. Allan Swaringen has served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Jones Lang LaSalle Income Property Trust since November 2011. As Chief Executive Officer, Swaringen leads the investment team and is responsible for all investing, asset management and finance functions, along with overseeing the strategic direction of the company. Additionally, Swaringen has served as Fund Manager for the company since its inception in 2004. As a Managing Director for LaSalle Investment Management, Swaringen also served, from its founding in 2000 until 2012, as President and Portfolio Manager for LaSalle Investment Company I and II, the firm's global co-investment program which invested in excess of $1.2 billion across more than 30 separate funds and programs in 17 different countries around the world. Swaringen is a member of LaSalle Investment Management's global risk management committee. Since joining LaSalle in 1998, his responsibilities have included portfolio management, business development and client services along with overseeing the formation and structuring of numerous real estate investment funds across LaSalle's global platform. Prior to joining LaSalle, Swaringen was a partner with Crown Golf Properties, L.P., an investment subsidiary of Henry Crown and Company and began his career in real estate more than 25 years ago with Trammell Crow Company. Swaringen holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and a B.S. from the University of Illinois.
Christopher Vincent, CFA, is the manager of the William Blair Income Fund and co-manager of the William Blair Bond Fund. He joined William Blair, a private investment bank and asset management company, in June 2002. He leads the fixed-income team, which oversees approximately $2.4 billion dollars, in sectors including money markets instruments, municipal bonds, structured securities, investment-grade credit, and high-yield bonds. The firm's fixed-income platform delivers products in the retail, institutional and private wealth channels. From 1988 through 2002, Vincent managed core and core-plus fixed-income portfolios for institutional clients at Kemper Financial Services (and its successor firms) in Chicago. He began his investment career in 1983 as a pension plan sponsor at Ralston Purina, a Fortune 100 company headquartered in St. Louis. Vincent earned his undergraduate degree in business from the University of Missouri in 1978. He completed his MBA at Saint Louis University in 1984 and was awarded the CFA charter in 1990. He appeared as a guest on CNBC's "Kudlow & Cramer" and has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal and Chicago Tribune. He most recently appeared on WTTW's "Chicago Tonight" to comment on the downgrade of U.S. Treasury debt. Vincent is a member of the CFA Institute. His work for the CFA Society Chicago includes being the Secretary/Treasurer for the Board of Directors, serving on the nominating committee, performing university outreach, and teaching the fixed-income portion of the fundamentals of investing class. He served as co-chair of Chicago's host committee for the CFA Institute 2012 annual conference.
Kerry Jordan, CFA is the Director of Marketing and Chief Compliance Officer for Chicago Capital Management L.P., an absolute return, merger arbitrage strategy hedge fund. In this capacity Jordan manages all of the fund's capital raising efforts, investor relations communications, and compliance programs. Prior to joining CCM, Jordan was a managing director at Phalanx Capital Management, LLC, an Asian-focused, multi-strategy hedge fund where she managed the fund's business development and capital raising efforts. Previously, Jordan was a director in the Global Derivatives Products group at Bank of America where she focused on the structuring and sale of interest rate, commodity, and equity derivatives for Fortune 500 clients. Jordan holds bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Massachusetts and a master of science in finance degree from the George Washington University. Jordan is a Chartered Financial Analyst and is the chair of the CFA Society Chicago Women Advisory Group. She is a member of the Board of Trustees for Econ Illinois, the state's council for economic education and the sponsor of The Stock Market Game. Ms. Jordan lives in Riverside, IL with her four children.
