  • AT THE TOP: I'm at the top of my career…so what do I do next?...and how do I afford doing it?

Kathy Graham Kathy Graham Kathleen "Kathy" Graham is a career strategist and finance specialist who is the founder of The HQ Companies, Inc., a group of four firms that revolve around retained executive search and career development for professionals. HQ Search, Inc. is her retained executive search company that she started after winning top recruiter awards at the three search firms she worked for previously. HQ Seminars, Inc. offers workshops and keynote speeches on career development, a topic that Graham has spoken on for The Boston Security Analysts Society, The Chicago Federal Reserve Bank, CFA Society Chicago, FRA in New York City, MFA in Miami, NYSSA in New York City, Northwestern University's Alumni Association in Chicago, and The University of Chicago's Booth School of Business' various alumni associations. She has been quoted in Hedgeworld, The Chicago Tribune, Crain’s Chicago, Job Search Digest, and numerous other publications. Another one of Graham's companies, HQ Scripts, Inc., is a micro-publishing house for books and articles that advance the career potential of current and future professionals. Of note, Kathy wrote Graham's Manual of Style for Resumes and Cover Letters, a resume-writing how-to guide.. Graham earned her MBA in Finance, Analytic Finance, and Econometrics & Statistics from The University of Chicago and a BA in Business Administration and Marketing from North Central College. She is a member of The CFA Institute/CFA Chicago, a graduate of The National Speakers University, and sits on The University of Chicago's Alumni Board.

Gail MarksJarvis Gail MarksJarvis is a columnist for the Chicago Tribune and delivers advice on personal finance, investing, business, and financial markets in speeches and on television and radio. She has appeared on CNBC, Fox Business, PBS NewsHour, National Public Radio, Morningstar, and CBS Morning Show, and has managed a multi-million dollar endowment fund for a non-profit. At the University of Minnesota School she has served on the Journalism Advisory Board, organized a mentoring program for aspiring journalists, and currently is on the board of governors for the Society of American Business Editors and Writers, a national organization that promotes high journalistic standards.

Kerry Jordan Kerry Jordan Kerry Jordan, CFA is the Director of Marketing and Chief Compliance Officer for Chicago Capital Management L.P., an absolute return, merger arbitrage strategy hedge fund. Prior to joining CCM, she was a managing director at Phalanx Capital Management, LLC, an Asian-focused multi-strategy hedge fund, and previously a director in the Global Derivatives Products group at Bank of America. She holds a BBA in finance from the University of Massachusetts and a MS in finance from George Washington University. Jordan is a Chartered Financial Analyst and the chair of the CFA Society Chicago Women Advisory Group. She is a member of the Board of Trustees for Econ Illinois, the state’s council for economic education and the sponsor of The Stock Market Game.

Money Smart Week®
Money Smart Week is a public awareness campaign designed to help consumers better manage their personal finances. This is achieved through the collaboration and coordinated effort of hundreds of organizations across the country including businesses, financial institutions, schools, libraries, not-for-profits, government agencies and the media. These groups come together once a year to stress the importance of financial literacy, inform consumers about where they can get help and provide free educational seminars and activities throughout the week. Programming is offered to all demographics and income levels and covers all facets of personal finance from establishing a budget to first time home buying to estate planning. The effort was created by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago in 2002. Money Smart Week partners will be hosting their events April 20 - 27, 2013.
