This session will focus on the strategies employed and performance of endowments and foundations since the financial crisis began. A brief review of the original principles which guide many institutions will be provided. How these principles have survived (or not) the stress test of the past two years will be examined. An attempt will be made to contrast superficial concerns reported in the press from substantive challenges facing these institutions. Finally, thoughts will be offered on what many institutions will be doing to tweak or overhaul their investment programs.
