Scott Burns, Director of ETF Analysis - Morningstar; Editor of Morningstar ETF Investor
Mr. Burns is the Director of ETF analysis for Morningstar and Editor of Morningstar ETF Investor. In this role, he leads a team of analysts that cover more than 300 ETFs and provide extensive commentary to advisors, individuals, and institutions. Before joining Morningstar in April 2004, Mr. Burns spent a year teaching corporate finance and cash-flow modeling for Bank One. Prior to that, Mr. Burns spent four years as an analyst, and later as an associate with the Bank of America Securities Leveraged Finance group. Mr. Burns holds a Bachelors degree in Finance from the University of Illinois and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Ed McRedmond, Senior Vice President; Director of Institutional & Portfolio Strategies - Invesco PowerShares Capital Management, LLC
Mr. McRedmond is a Senior Vice President and the Director of Institutional and Portfolio Strategies for Invesco PowerShares Capital Management, LLC. He works on increasing the awareness and usage of PowerShares' ETFs within the various distribution channels, with a focus on working with analysts, due diligence groups, and portfolio managers who develop ETF portfolios and investment strategies. In addition, Mr. McRedmond oversees a team that services the institutional and international channels for PowerShares' US-listed ETFs. He joined PowerShares in 2005 from A.G. Edwards, where he was Associate Vice President and a member of the Allocation Advisors Investment Committee. While at A.G. Edwards, Mr. McRedmond was a member of the St. Louis Financial Analysts Society. He is a graduate of Quincy University with a B.S. degree in Economics and Finance.
Bill Thomas, Chief Executive Officer - Grail Advisors, LLC
Mr. Thomas serves as Chief Executive Officer for Grail Advisors LLC, an innovator in the creation and distribution of actively managed Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs). Grail works with established asset managers, distributors, and related financial institutions to design and deliver fully disclosed actively-managed ETFs to the global investment community. Mr. Thomas came to Grail Advisors from Charles Schwab Investment Management (CSIM), where he was Head of Distribution. Prior to joining CSIM, he managed the OneSource mutual fund platform for Charles Schwab, with over $350B in assets. Mr. Thomas is a graduate of Lake Forest College and former Chairman of the Mutual Fund Education Alliance.
Matthew T. Moran, Vice President, Business Development - Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE)
Mr. Moran is Vice President of Business Development for the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), and is responsible for many of the exchange's marketing and educational efforts for pension funds, mutual funds, and other institutional investors. He is also an Associate Editor of The Journal of Trading and is on the advisory boards of the Chartered Alternative Investments Analyst Association (CAIA) and The Journal of Indexes. Mr. Moran is a licensed attorney-at-law who has received his M.B.A. and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Illinois.
