Have you ever wondered how your skills as a CFA Charterholder could apply to the futures industry?
The goal of this event is to provide ideas for CFA Chicago members looking to use their education and background in a new arena. You will hear from panelists who market, analyze, and trade futures. They will share their personal career paths and how they selected this sector of the financial services industry, as well as discuss the opportunities they see for current CFA Chicago members.

Jeff Brown, CFA, is an Investment Analyst at Efficient Capital Management, LLC. Prior to joining Efficient Capital, Mr. Brown was an equity research analyst at William Blair & Company LLC and Credit Suisse Group from 2004-2009. Previously, he was a consultant at IPC Group LLC (acquired by CRA International, Inc.) from 2000-2004. Mr. Brown is an MBA candidate at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and expects to graduate in December 2009. He is a CFA Charterholder and a member of CFA Institute and CFA Society of Chicago. He has passed the Series 7, 63, and 87 exams.
Philip Hatzopoulos, CFA, is Director, Equity Index Products at CME Group. He joined CME Group from Morgan Stanley where he served as Vice President, Fixed Income Sales, and was responsible for structuring and selling fixed income products to hedge funds, insurance companies and money managers. He has also worked for Fuji Securities Inc. and as a proprietary floor trader. Mr. Hatzopoulos earned a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a master's in finance from the Illinois Institute of Technology's Stuart School of Business. He holds the CFA designation and is a member of CFA Institute and CFA Society of Chicago. He is a Series 7 and 63 registered representative.
Rick Redding, CFA, has served as Managing Director, Products & Services of CME Group since July 2007. He is responsible for developing and executing the company's global product development and sales strategy. Previously, he served as Managing Director, Products and Services of CME Holdings and CME since 2004. Mr. Redding has been with the company for more than 20 years, including serving for over 10 years as head of the exchange's equity product line. During this time, he helped develop CME's stock index futures and options complex. Other products launched under Mr. Redding's leadership were the S&P Midcap 400™ and the NASDAQ-100®. Mr. Redding is a CFA Charterholder and a member of CFA Institute and CFA Society of Chicago.
Nick Ronalds, CFA is Executive Director, FIA Asia, responsible for managing the Asian affiliate of the Futures Industry Association. He is also President of RhoFinancial, an advisory firm that assists U.S. firms to trade or make direct investments in Asian futures markets as well as Asian firms interested in entering U.S. markets. Nick's career in the futures industry spans over 25 years and has included senior positions at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the futures brokerage units of several global futures brokerage firms. He is member of CFA Institute and past-Chairman of the CFA Society of Chicago.
