Stephen M. Horan, CFA, Head, Professional Education Content and Private Wealth - CFA Institute
Mr. Horan manages private wealth content as it relates to education and professional development for CFA Institute members. Prior to joining CFA Institute, he was a professor of finance at St. Bonaventure University, principal of Alesco Advisors LLC, and a financial analyst and forensic economist in private practice, providing expert witness testimony and preparing economic impact studies. Mr. Horan also served as account manager with Manning & Napier Advisors, Inc. and as stockbroker with Quick and Reilly, Inc. Mr. Horan has served CFA Institute as both associate editor and abstractor for CFA Digest, and ad-hoc reviewer for Financial Analysts Journal. He also served as education chair for the CFA Society of Buffalo. He earned a B.B.A. in finance with a minor in mathematics from St. Bonaventure University and a Ph.D. in finance with a minor in economics from State University of New York at Buffalo.

Kenneth F. Lorch, Partner - Hamilton Thies Lorch & Hagnell LLP
Mr. Lorch is a partner in the firm of Hamilton Thies Lorch & Hagnell LLP, where he concentrates his practice in business and financial planning, estate administration and estate litigation. He speaks frequently about topics relative to business succession planning and estate planning and administration and received the Chicago Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division's David C. Hilliard Award for outstanding service to the legal profession and community. Mr. Lorch is serving or has served on the boards of the CJE Senior Life, the Anti-Defamation League, the American Society of the Technion, and the Chicago Council on Planned Giving. For the past 4 years, Law & Politics and Chicago Magazine named him one of Illinois' "Super Lawyers" in the area of Trusts and Estates. Ken is an active member of the Chicago Bar Association, serving on the Probate Practice Committee Rules and Forms Committee and its Trust Law Committee. He also belongs to the Chicago Estate Planning Council. Mr. Lorch received his J.D. from The John Marshall Law School in 1976 and his bachelor's degree from Washington University.

David K. McHugh, CFA, Senior Vice President - Northern Trust Global Investments
Mr. McHugh is a Senior Vice President at The Northern Trust Company in Chicago. He is also the Chief Investment Operating Officer for Personal Financial Services and Chief Compliance Officer for Northern Trust Federal Savings Bank. Mr. McHugh joined Northern Trust in 1978, as a Probate Assistant and was made an Investment Officer in 1981. Later that year, he transferred to Northern Trust Bank in Florida/Naples where he was a Portfolio Manager and assisted in asset/liability management for the Bank. He was named a Second Vice President in 1983, and returned to the firm in Chicago in 1984 where he was later named a Vice President in 1986. Mr. McHugh has been responsible for the equity committee for Northern Investment Counselors and was named Department Head in 1994. In 1995, he was also named Department Head for Personal Investment Management, and thereafter promoted to Senior Vice President in 1996. Mr. McHugh holds a B.S. degree from Marquette University and an M.B.A. degree from DePaul University. Mr. McHugh is a former Director of the CFA Society of Chicago Board of Directors.
