Biography: Mr. Donohue has served as Chief Executive Officer of CME Group since July 2007, when CME and CBOT merged to become the world's largest and most diverse derivatives exchange. Previously, he served as Chief Executive Officer of CME Holdings Inc. and of CME. Mr. Donohue played a leading role in the company's historic merger. He also was instrumental in CME's demutualization and initial public offering which, in December 2002, made CME the first publicly traded financial exchange in the United States. In addition, Mr. Donohue played a key role in creating CME's historic clearing agreement with the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) and in developing OneChicago LLC, CME's single stock futures joint venture with CBOT and the Chicago Board Options Exchange, and FXMarketSpace, CME's joint venture with Reuters that created the world's first all-electronic platform serving the $2 trillion per day over-the-counter foreign exchange market.
