Biography: In August 2007, Mr. McCormick was sworn in by Secretary Henry M. Paulson, Jr. as Under Secretary for International Affairs. In this capacity, he is principal advisor to the Secretary of the Treasury on international economic issues. Mr. McCormick oversees policies in the areas of international finance, trade in financial services, investment, economic development, and international debt policy. He also coordinates financial market policy with the Group of Seven industrialized countries. Before assuming the role of Under Secretary, Mr. McCormick was Deputy National Security Advisor to the President for International Economic Affairs with responsibility for coordinating U.S. international economic policy, foreign assistance, and humanitarian affairs.
