130/30 is one of the fastest growing institutional investment strategies. These extension strategies invest 130% in long positions, typically equities, and 30% in short positions. While the risk is similar to an un-levered, long-only portfolio, the ability to sell short and invest the proceeds in long stock positions magnifies the stock selection skill of the fund manager.

This luncheon panel will provide valuable insight regarding the structure of 130/30 funds, the pension fund investor experience, the choices of fundamental and quantitative strategies, and the empirical track record of this new investment structure.

Panelists:

Scott Bondurant, Long Short Equity Strategist & Executive Director - UBS Global Asset Management
Mr. Bondurant has 18 years of investment industry experience. In his current role, Mr. Bondurant oversees all phases of development, implementation, management and marketing of all long/short products within UBS Global Asset Management, and he is a member of the Equity Investment Committee. Prior to joining the firm in 2005, Mr. Bondurant was in institutional equities for more than 15 years, including his role as executive director at Morgan Stanley for nine years, where he worked closely with the prime brokerage team to help managers with long/short strategies.

Paul V. Doane, Chief Executive and Chief Investment Officer - Arkansas Teacher Retirement System
Mr. Doane serves as both Chief Executive and Chief Investment Officer of the Arkansas Teacher Retirement System in Little Rock, AR. Prior to this, Mr. Doane served as a Senior Vice President of Oppenheimer Capital in New York, where he had direct responsibility for the firm's major national public pension fund relationships. He currently also serves as Commissioner with the Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission (PERAC) in Massachusetts, having been appointed last year by former Governor Mitt Romney for a term ending in 2010.

Robert H. Kramer, CFA, Founder and Managing Director - Chicago Equity Partners
Mr. Kramer oversees the quantitative research, trading, and technology groups at Chicago Equity Partners. In addition, he is the portfolio manager for the healthcare sector. Mr. Kramer has over twenty-one years of industry experience. Prior to co-founding the firm, he worked at the Feldman Group and GE Credit Corporation. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Society of Chicago.

Keith Black, CFA, Associate - Ennis Knupp & Associates
As an associate, Mr. Black leads consulting relationships for a select number of Ennis Knupp retainer and project clients. He is also a senior member of the firm's opportunistic strategies investment management research group. Prior to joining Ennis Knupp in 2007, Mr. Black taught at the Illinois Institute of Technology as an Assistant Professor and Senior Lecturer for the past eight years on several subjects, including investments, equity valuation, portfolio management, mutual funds, economics, hedge funds, global investment strategy, finance, and enterprise formation (venture capital). He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Society of Chicago.
