The CFA Society of Chicago Education Advisory Group is pleased to present "Emerging Trends in International Real Estate Investing." This event will explore emerging macro real estate trends, the development of international real estate markets, and the risks and opportunities of investing in international real estate markets. Asset managers, brokers, corporate real estate executives, developers and investors should attend to learn of new challenges in this asset class.

Luncheon Keynote Speaker:

Gary R. Garrabrant, Chief Executive Officer - Equity International Mr. Garrabrant is chief executive officer and co-founder of Equity International, which he joined in 1996. Mr. Garrabrant oversees all of the Company's activities and investment portfolio. He is also executive vice president of Equity Group Investments, L.L.C. (EGI), the privately-held investment company founded and led by Sam Zell. Mr. Garrabrant has extensive real estate, investment management and banking experience. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a B.B.A. in finance and completed the Dartmouth Institute at Dartmouth College.

Panelists:

Nancy Holland, Global Head of Property - ABN AMRO Asset Management, Inc.
Ms. Holland joined ABN AMRO Asset Management in 1997 as Senior Portfolio Manager for the North American region of its Global Property Team. In her tenure, she built the North American platform, and in 2005, she assumed responsibility for the firm's global property products and processes. Her base of knowledge of the real estate industry comes from her 13 years on the direct property side of the business. Ms. Holland earned a B.S. degree from Saint Louis University.

Arthur Oduma, Senior Equity Analyst - Morningstar, Inc.
Mr. Oduma is a Senior Equity Analyst covering REITs and homebuilders at Morningstar, Inc. He is team leader of a 5-person real estate securities team that covers about 85 REITs, lodging, and property services companies. Mr. Oduma has extensive experience in the building industry having worked as an architect and software consultant to building professionals for six years prior to joining Morningstar. He holds an M.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and a bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Nairobi.

Frank Schmitz, Managing Principal - Park Hill Real Estate Group
Mr. Schmitz is a founder and Managing Principal of Park Hill Real Estate Group, a private real estate equity placement business that is an affiliate of The Blackstone Group. His prior experience includes portfolio strategy and investment management for private and public market equity clients, institutional marketing specializing in real estate business development, and product design and development. Mr. Schmitz received an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and a bachelor's degree in economics and political science from Northwestern University.

G. Stephen Fletcher, Jr., Director - Huron Consulting Group
Mr. Fletcher is a Director in Wellspring Partner's Financial Advisory Services practice (Wellspring is the healthcare consulting practice of Huron Consulting Group, Inc.). He brings to Wellspring more than ten years of experience in the strategic and M&A advisory, financial analysis and business valuation disciplines. At Wellspring, Mr. Fletcher specializes in providing the previously noted advisory services to companies and professionals across the healthcare continuum who benefit from his extensive corporate finance, M&A, private equity and venture capital experience (as both an agent and a principal). He holds an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Texas-Austin and a B.S. in economics from Vanderbilt University.
