Biography: Hersh Shefrin has published widely on a wide range of topics in mathematics, finance and economics, and is best known for his work in behavioral finance. Dr. Shefrin has authored numerous books including "Beyond Greed and Fear: Understanding Behavioral Finance and the Psychology of Investing," the first comprehensive treatment of behavioral finance written specifically for practitioners. Professor Shefrin has been listed among the academic stars of finance by CFO Magazine, as well as one of the top 15 economic theorists to have influenced empirical work by an article in the American Economic Review. His work with Meir Statman has also earned him the William Sharpe Best Paper Award for the article "Behavioral Portfolio Theory," and a Graham and Dodd scroll from the Association of Investment Management Research.
