Present Like a Pro (Members Only, Limited Space) (Ended)
Whether you regularly give pitches to potential investors or only have to present your ideas to an internal investment committee, being able to persuade people through presentations is an important skill for any investment professional.
This interactive session led by veteran financial writer Scott Wentworth will explain how you can present your ideas more effectively and persuasively when talking to a live audience. Combining academic work in persuasion theory with practical techniques that can easily be applied, Scott will teach attendees how to not only improve the quality of their slide decks, but how to bring their most important ideas to life in a way that is memorable and actionable for the audience.
- Creating slides that reinforce the speaker’s main ideas without distracting the audience
- Use persuasion theory to craft a message that is tailored to the audience’s interests
- Incorporate anecdotes and humor to engage with the audience
- Analyze their own slide decks and presentations to identify areas for improvement
- Focus the audience’s attention on your “one big idea”
