New Considerations in the Quest for Alpha is the second annual academic research conference hosted by the CFA Society of Chicago in conjunction with the Detroit, Indianapolis, Madison, Milwaukee, Minnesota, St. Louis, and West Michigan Societies. The event will take place on Friday, April 21, 2006 at the Mid America Club in Chicago, IL.
The 2006 conference brings together top financial academic researchers from Berkeley, Duke, Harvard, Illinois, IIT, Michigan, and Wharton to share their ideas on the quest for alpha through equity, fixed income, commodities, international investing, hedge funds, private equity, and venture capital. We'll also have a session entitled "Alpha – the most abused term in finance."
Rob Arnott, Editor of the Financial Analysts Journal will provide the introductory address and our luncheon speaker will be Professor Jeremy Siegel - Wharton, University of Pennsylvania, discussing his recent book, "The Future for Investors." Please see below for the full agenda and list of impressive presenters.
Last year's attendees commented that the conference was "informative, reasonably priced and an outstanding effort by all those involved" and that the "speakers were top notch, bringing broad views, historical perspective, and relevant insight into what the future holds for our clients."
NOTE: Only 200 seats are available for the conference and 100 additional seats are available for the luncheon featuring Professor Jeremy Siegel.
